Correct use and scientific maintenance are effective ways to keep the equipment in good condition and increase the service life of the hammer. If the operation and maintenance are improper, it is not only easy to cause equipment failures, such as vibration, noise, heat, wear, etc., but also greatly reduce the service life of the high manganese steel hammer.
The following points should be noted in the daily use and maintenance of the hammer crusher.
① According to the model and design requirements of the hammer crusher, the feed size should be properly controlled, and it is strictly forbidden to put materials that exceed the maximum design limit size into the crushing chamber.
② Due to the certain error in the quality of the hammer head when casting, it is weighed when replacing the new hammer head, and divided into several groups according to the quality. The quality of each group and the left and right masses are required to be equal. Otherwise, the unbalanced rotor is easy to cause vibration when starting the machine, resulting in uneven hammer beating, and each hammer head wears at different speeds, which reduces the service life of the whole set of hammer heads.
③ The plate feeder adopts a variable frequency motor to ensure uniform feeding and control the feeding speed at the same time to avoid excessive impact on the crusher rotor or blockage in the crusher cavity due to uneven feeding, which accelerates the wear of the hammer head.
④When stopping, check the gap between the hammer head and the screen bar, and between the screen bars. If necessary, adjust it and replace the screen bars regularly to keep it within an appropriate and reasonable range, so as to meet production requirements and not cause material accumulation. The internal gap of the crusher mainly refers to the gap between the rotor body and the impact plate, the screen plate and the hammer head. The size of these gaps is related to whether there is material accumulation near the screen plate and the safety door. If there is material accumulation and the hammer head cannot press the accumulated material off the screen plate, the hammer head will be severely worn. Therefore, during use, the gaps of each part must be adjusted frequently to keep it within an appropriate range.
⑤Control the moisture content of the material, especially in the rainy season production, try not to shovel low-lying and high-water-content materials into the crusher cavity. If conditions permit, dry the material before it enters the crusher to reduce the moisture in the material, which will help to increase its hardness coefficient and increase the stress on the hammer head when the crusher is working, forming a work-hardening layer, but this method is limited by the requirements of crushing materials and sites.
⑥ When metal objects enter the crusher or the lining plate falls off, it is easy to cause damage or bending of the hammer plate and screen plate frame, or cause accelerated wear and damage of the hammer head. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate a post operation inspection system and a reward and punishment system to give full play to people’s initiative. Once found, the machine should be stopped in time for processing, and the metal objects or lining plates entering the crusher bin should be removed.
⑦ The more impurities in the material, the more it will affect the crushing ability of the high manganese steel hammer head, resulting in a significant reduction in the life of the hammer head. Therefore, it is very important to match the materials reasonably, especially the mud materials, which should be matched reasonably when poured into the crusher cavity.
⑧ Because the surface layer of the high manganese steel hammer head will quickly produce work hardening under the action of large impact or contact stress, its work hardening index is 5 to 7 times higher than other materials, and the wear resistance has been greatly improved. Therefore, after replacing the new high manganese steel hammer head, when using it for the first time, pour materials with higher hardness, better quality and less impurities into the crusher to hammer, so that the high manganese steel hammer head will quickly produce work hardening (this will directly affect the service life of the hammer head in the future).
⑨ In the production of hammer crushing, the technical parameters of hammer crushing will also affect the service life of the hammer head. The power and speed of the rotor not only directly affect the production capacity of the crusher, but also affect the degree of impact hardening of the high manganese steel hammer head. To improve the service life of the high manganese steel hammer head of the crusher, it must have a large enough impact force, that is, the rotor must reach a certain speed before it can be put into production.
⑩ It is necessary to regularly clean up the accumulated materials inside the crusher. The existence of accumulated materials causes the hammer head to be severely worn and sharply reduces its service life.
In actual production and use, different wear reduction measures should be adopted according to different influencing factors to improve the service life of the high manganese steel hammer head. To achieve “hammering according to the material”, use and maintain it correctly, reasonably and scientifically, so that the high manganese steel hammer head maintains a high hardness and wear resistance, thereby effectively improving the service life of the high manganese steel hammer head of the hammer crusher, reducing the production cost of ore and the labor intensity of workers.
